I am already a teacher but my IT skills are only basic. Would I be able to work with you?

Yes, as long as you have a good grounding of basic IT skills, we can train you to the level required. Alternatively you can employ someone to take on the courses that you do not want to. We will offer as much training as you need to reach your own goal - then you can employ others to do, say, the accounts programs.

I am an IT specialist but I do not have teaching skills. Can I still join Laptop Learning?

We have a 'teacher training' specialist who will help you to develop the teaching/training knowledge and skills, but we look for any prior experience, such as informal teaching for clubs, neighbours, children.

I live in Scotland/Wales/Ireland - do you have franchises in these areas?

We expect to cover all areas of the UK and are branching into the EU and Australia.

As long as your territory has not already been taken, then there is no restriction upon where a franchise can be.

However, if your area is very rural and far from large towns, then we may need to negotiate a different area.

Can I employ other people to do some of the training?

Yes, there will be some topics that you do not feel comfortable in training. For many people these tend to be accounts programs or design. We suggest that you employ people in your area to cover the skills you do not want to. You can build the business into the size that you want and that the area will support

How much does a Laptop Learning Franchise cost?

The price of a Laptop Learning Franchise is £18,000 + VAT. This represents £10,000 for the licence to trade, and then you are given a marketing launch in your area worth £4,000. The remainder of the initial fee covers training and additional marketing and administration.

The ongoing fee is 10% of turnover, payable monthly and there is an additional 2% marketing fee. This fee goes back into your area for general marketing and contributes towards large-scale advertising.

How long is the training?

When you have been interviewed and accepted you will have 5 days training (and optionally as much as you need on top in order to become proficient). The first day will be somewhere near your own area, followed by 2 days at the Torquay office and then a further 2 days 'on-the-job' training in your own area - in conjunction with the marketing launch.
